The method
Before using the result
- Productivity describes the entire crew per clock hour. No overtime, equipment, interruptions, overhead or material cost.

These original training examples illustrate the method for LEED Green Associate (LEED GA). Use the matching “Load example” button above to explore a variation; example values are not equipment settings or prescribed criteria.
1. Worked example
Estimate clock duration from whole-crew output, then convert to person-hours. Keep crew productivity separate from productivity per individual worker.
- Work quantity (consistent units)
- 100
- Crew size
- 4
- Whole-crew productivity (units/clock hour)
- 10
- Labour rate per person-hour (currency)
- 25
- Duration = 100 / 10 = 10 clock hours.
- Labour = 10 × 4 = 40 person-hours.
- Cost = 40 × 25.
- Clock duration: 10 h
- Labour: 40 person-hours
- Estimated labour cost: 1,000 currency units
2. Comparison example
Compare a different supplied condition using the same method. For Construction Tutor, the important check is that the input meaning, units and method assumptions still match the problem.
- Work quantity (consistent units)
- 150
- Crew size
- 4
- Whole-crew productivity (units/clock hour)
- 10
- Labour rate per person-hour (currency)
- 25
- Duration = 150 / 10 = 15 clock hours.
- Labour = 15 × 4 = 60 person-hours.
- Cost = 60 × 25.
- Clock duration: 15 h
- Labour: 60 person-hours
- Estimated labour cost: 1,500 currency units
Check your understanding
1. Which relationship is used?
Duration = quantity/whole-crew productivity; person-hours = duration × crew size; labour cost = person-hours × rate.
2. Which assumption should you check first?
Productivity describes the entire crew per clock hour. No overtime, equipment, interruptions, overhead or material cost.
3. How should you verify a different unit system?
Convert every input to the displayed calculation units first. Equivalent physical inputs must give equivalent results; a unit label alone does not convert a number.
